    3. Hi Lynn, These are current maps. I asked them if the published date was available, haven't heard back yet. I noticed from one map area that included my g-g grandfather Alexander Moore's property in Cat Co. ( now owned by my brother, and on the national historic register), that it included the old road (plowed under) not used since 1960, to the improvements ( a newer building) constructed in the1980's, to new roads used presently. It did not include the family cemetery though, (but does those cemeteries attached to churches). So in some cases it covers a span of time. The thing that is good about these maps is you can search by a place name or item name such as Little Mountain, or Terrapin Creek, or even church name, then you can zero in on the exact location by state, etc,. I queried Olivet Church and it listed many churches all over the U.S., I chose Cat Co.NC. & was taken to the location of the church & cemetery where most of my Saunders ancestors are buried, it gave me a sense of the surrounding areas and neighborhood, (things I am already familiar with) it is a good secondary source to lead to those elusive primary sources we are always searching for. And the fact that they are topographical is helpful. They can be downloaded, maybe into Paint or Works, where you can locate and mark other places, lines & boundaries not noted on the map, so eventually you can compile a complete picture of a property. It's so much easier than waiting for a map ordered from a location some distance away. You have the option of ordering maps from there also.
