    3. I am trying to find information on a William Yoder, b. abt. 1857 in or near Catawba to Elizabeth and Abel Yoder. He married Martha (Mattie) Ann Michals in 1880. Mattie and their three children, Jessie, Carrie and Willie, all appear in Oregon ca. 1895-1900. At this point, Mattie is married to a Robert L. Correll. also of NC. Family stories have it that they came out West via Texas, spending some time there. What I am trying to discover is what happened to William. I found him in the census with his mother prior to marriage, but have found nothing after. He may have died in NC and she remarried there, or perhaps he died on the trek to the west. Whatever happened to him, it appears (based on census records) that Mattie remarried around 1887. If anyone could help shed light on the issue I would much appreciate it! Also, if there is any information on movements west via Texas, I would love to learn more about it.

    3. Abel Yoder was born in 1818 and was killed in the Civil War. Their youngest child was William Yoder. ABel Yoder married Elisabeth "Lizzie" Jarrett. Information from Fred r. Yoder's "history of the Yoder Family in North Carolina". A new history of the Yoder family is being compiled by Chris Yoder. 3. Derick, I don't have the parents of Lizzie Jarrett, as I worked more on a Daniel Jarrett. I found a book which might tell that I think is in the Newton Library. "A Partial History of the Jarrett Family:". by Jay G. Jarrett and Morris S. Yoder. This book should have a Yoder-Jarrett marriage.
