> I'm descended from Daniel Hallman (b 1803) and have other info about him that is partially different from what appeared here and in other places. This is what I've found: His first wife was Mary Lontz, a daughter of George and Susannah Lontz. (The marriage bond may look like Mary's name was Loretz but if you compare it with real Loretz documents from that time, you can see the difference. Also, the estate settlement for George includes info naming Daniel and Mary Hallman among his heirs. Third, their daughter Mary Catherine's death certificate gives her mother's maiden name as "Luntz.") His second wife was Sarah Keener. The estate settlement for Michael Keener mentions Daniel and Sarah Hallman several times. His will does list his children who lived to adulthood. Laban is not included so I would be interested in documentation connecting him to this Daniel. (His will indicates that he was married only twice--I know this wouldn't rule out Laban from another earlier relationship.) There was no Vilecta as far as I can tell -- this was a misunderstanding of the "Southern" pronunciation of Phylector. He had at least two other children from his second marriage who died young. I have additional info about his children if you're interested. Jan
