Ransom C. Lail was the son of George Lagle and Ann Melissa Starnes. He married May Sue Miller. This seems to fit what ytou have.     3. Derick, Thank you for your response. I am glad to have the parentage of Levi W. Stallings confirmed. The Rinck-Stallings connection is now clear. What is not clear is why George Lagle was living with the Rincks in 1870. Something may turn up later that makes this connection obvious. You mentioned that you believed that Ransom C. Lail was the son of George Lagle and Ann Melissa Starnes, and that he married May Sue Miller. Do you recall your source for this? I think the Lale family tree (in the Lagle / Lale family book) indicates that a Ransom A. Lail, son of Ransom C. Lail, married a Mary Miller. I did not see a marriage record for either of them in the Catawba County marriage records that have been published. Thanks again for your help. Teri Tillman
