Sherry, when you are unsure. Go to the Court House in your county and find where the estates can be found. In NC, it is in the Clerk of Court's office. Take the estate file with you, and they will answer any questions. Older estate files in North Carolina may be found in the NC Archives and History, Raleigh, NC. The staff will also be able to handle your questions.
