    1. [Catawba-West] Daniel Stamey, 1770-1857; Dyer; Totherow.
    2. Hi List, Daniel Stamey, 1770-1857, was married about 1793 to Margaret Hudson, according to Eaker's German-Speaking People West of the Catawba River. Our Kin, p. 109, states that Barbara Totherow, daughter of John and Mary Hoffman Totherow (whose other children were married between 1797 and 1823), married Daniel Stamey. Of course, these could be two persons with the name Daniel Stamey. The problem is that there is a Lincoln County marriage bond: Dyer, George and Barbara Detherow, 28 May 1814, with John Shrum as bondsman. Question: Is this Barbara the daughter of John and Mary, and did she marry George Dyer instead of Daniel Stamey? Or is this Barbara who married George Dyer from another Totherow family, or even a widow Barbara? The Dudderer/Dotherow/Totherow/Tethero/Detherow family family research would be greatly helped by an answer to these questions. Thanks.
