Dear Folks, I have done some major work on the Burke Co. NCGenWeb page < http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncburke/ > I have changed the access routine which WILL affect your bookmarks. Previously, the URL address was: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncburke/ncburke.htm It will no longer be necessary to use the page name to access the site. Due to the routines of various routers, the index page (which appears after the last "slash") is really superfluous if it is the name the server is looking for. RootsWeb looks for "index.htm" which is the actual default page. So, you can either use: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncburke/ or http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncburke/index.htm If you have tried in the past to use the search engine on the Burke Co. page, you probably experienced some disappointment. I have added a new search engine that indexes the entire site, including some 4 year-old queries that were not previously accessible. To use the SEARCH ENGINE, go to the initial Burke Co. page and click on "Search ENTIRE Burke County NCGenWeb" (the first entry on the page). This will bring you to the SEARCH page. Use a key word or phrase and the results will be displayed in a matter of seconds.
