Johann Theobold Hunsucker No. 353 p. 237 Second Installment Mary, wife of John Grunt was given Lot No. 1 consisting of 73 acres and valued at $300.00, land lying on the south bank of a fork of Lyle's Creek, abbuting on the land of Philip Baker and lot #2. It included the old barn and improvements on John Grunt so probably abbuted land upon which they were living. Joseph inherited Lot No. 2 and his acres were valued at $531.00. His land included the parent's old home and outbuildings. Lot No. 5 was Jacob's with 108 acres valued at $320.00. They abbuted lots #2 and corners of #10, #4, and #5 and included his own house and the Still house and Spring house. Molly, wife of Adam Grunt received Lot No. 4 with 63 acres valued at $250.00. Her lots shared corners with #3 and #5 and the line with #9 and #10. Catherine, wife of Peter Little, Jr. inherited 79 acres worth $230.00. The land shared corners with lots #2 and #3, following a line of lot #4 to the corner of #6 and Aker's line. Sarah, wife of Simon Haas had Lot No. 6 on the waters of Lyle's Creek. Her 57 acres were valued at $300.00. They bordered lots #7, #5 and #9. The oldest son Wilhelm was given Lot No. 7 with 65 acres on Lyle's Creek, next to Sarah's worth $320.00. His neighbor on the other side was Christian on Lot No. 8, with 73 acres worth $400.00. This land was the site of Christian's dwelling house and buildings. Lot No. 9 was John's with 48 plus acres on the waters of Lyle's Creek valued at $193.00 abutting the corners of #4, #5, and #8 and cornering with #6 and #7. Susannah, wife of William Drum was given Lot No. 10 consisting of 88 acres with $250.00 on the waters of Lyle's Creek along Isenhour's line and cornering with lots #11 and #3, including Adam Grunt's meadow. Elizabeth had passed away before her father so her share was left to her heirs. There were 125 acres on the waters of Lyle's Creek cornering with lots #10, #12, and #13. Peggy, wife of Joseph Isenhour inherited 110 acres at $220.00 along the Oxford Road, bordering Isenhour land and containing their dwelling house and outbuildings. Lot No 13 went to the heirs of Eve, first wife of Jacob Little. There were 115 acres on the waters of Lyle's Creek sharing Grunt's border and a corner touching those of # 11 and #12. The last lot, No 4, went to the heirs of Barbara, the first wife of John Moser. Barbara had died the year after her father in 1823 but before the estate was settle. She received 172 acres on Little Long Shoal Creek valued at $258.00 abutting the land of Philip Baker and including Powder Spring. The commissioners appointed by the court to divide the land were john Willfong, Mich Cline, Jacob Shuford and Maxwell Wilson. 1281 acres valued at $4052 were divided. The chain carriers who did the measuring were Philip Baker and William Aker assisting J. Dellinger. We have a deed showing that Chaterina Little sold her 79 acres to her brother Jacob in 1824. Neighbors Frederick Hoke and Eliza Hoke were witnesses to this transaction. It is interesting to note that the clerk who copied the deeds for the family members spelled Devault's name Huntsicker, Huntsucker, Hunsicker and Hunsucker on the various deeds with Hunsicker being the most used.
