George Schuffert (!), John Shuford (2), Martin Shuford (3), Jacob Shuford (4), Martin P. Shuford (5), Mortimer Shuford (6) L. M. Hoffman's "Our Kin" has a biographical sketch. Mortimer Shuford was the son of Martin Shuford who represented Rutherford County in the Legislature. Martin was the son of Jacob Shuford and Margaret Hoyle. Mortimer Shuford was a German Reformed minister. He served as Pastor in VA and MD. He preached his last sermon in Newton, NC on the text "Behold I stand at the door and knock".
