Hi, all- Need help on England Family - Wilson England, born c. 1826 in Henderson Co., NC appears in Catawba Co., NC Census in household of Nathaniel Wilson, Newton Twp., Catawba Co., NC as a tailor. Also, is Julia Ann England age 17. Is she a wife or sister of Wilson? In the 1860 Census of Catawba Co., Julia Ann appears again, this time in the household of Joshua Wilson (House 519 Family #508) with two kids, Napoleon B. age 8, and Abigail J. England, age 5. Also, in Joshua Wilson's household is Rufus England, age 32, a county surveyor, with wife, Violet Wilson England, Joshua's daughter. Backing up a bit, Violet England, age 18, and Rufus England, age 23, born in Henderson County, NC are in Newton Twp., Catawba County, NC in household of Joseph (Joshua?) Wilson, age 52. (House #602, Family 602). Somewhere along the way was a Milton England supposedly married to Julia Ann. I've lost my reference to that bit of data. Who was he and what happened to him? When a son, Napoleon B. England got married in 1868 to Sarah Ann Robinson, Milton England and Julia A. England were listed as parents according to Catawba Co. Marriages, Vol. A-K, p. 140. Napoleon B. England, wife and 5 kids are not in Catawba Co. after 1880 Census. On page 85 of Catawba County Cemeteries, Vol. 1, page 85 is an entry thusly - Julian England b. 5 Feb 1833; d. 28 Mar 1862, age 32 years, 1 month and 23 days buried in Old Hass Cemetery on Prison Camp Road, Catawba County, NC. This fits with the above Julia Ann England. There also was a Julia Ann England that married Bob Ikerd in 1867 Catawba Co., NC and this Julia's mother was listed as Fanny; father unk. This 1867 marriage is after the death of the Julian England in 1865. Bob Ikerd's parents are listed as Forney Killian and Vina Rudisill; figure this one out! Rufus England's parents were Alexander "Aleck" England and Abigail Wilson. An unknown brother of Rufus had a daughter, Alice, b. c. 1859 (age 21) per 1880 Census of Catawba Co., NC listed as a niece of Rufus and Violet England in Caldwell Twp. (House/Family #22). The only Alice England listed in 1870 Catawba Co. Census are "Black" and of the wrong age. Hope this helps in figuring this mess out. Help. How are these Wilsons and Englands related? Ann K.
