Ray This woman¹s second name turns up spelled differently from time to time. As to Estes Lovenia Moose b 23 Feb 1871 wife of William Taylor: I have the following note: Transferred to Columbia S.C. according to St. James Lutheran Church records however, Estes Lobenia is buried at St. James Lutheran, and oddly enough she is buried under the name of Moose. She died pretty young. They were married at St. James Apr 29 1890 I have the following on him Born 15 Apr 1868 Catawba Co., NC died 30 March 1945 Catawba Co., NC Buried Eastview Cemetery. Son of Sidney and Malinda Taylor, her maiden name has not yet surfaced. Sidney Taylor was born Feb 1830 in the 1900 census he is age 70 has been married 40 years and his wife is Malinda b Apr 1836 age 65 has had 10 children seven are alive Living with them son Harvey b Aug 1854 age 45 is a veterinarian has been married 24 years no wife shows. son Charlie b Jan 1875 age 24 cotton mill carder and his wife Ethel b Feb 1880 age 20 daughter-in-law. living next door are William Sims and his wife Emma b Nov 1872 age 27 three children and she is a daughter of Sidney Taylor and Malinda . William D. married second Ellen Susan Setzer, dau. of James Noah Setzer and Ellen Malinda Sigmon. William D. and Ella Taylor appear in the 1900 US Census of Mountain Creek Twp, Catawba Co., NC he is listed as having been born Apr 1868 is age 32 has a farm has been married 3 years and was born in NC, he is a farmer and rents this farm. Ella was born July 1878 in NC is age 21 has one child Essa E. daughter was born Mar 1900 in NC and is 2 months old. There are no other children in the household, so if he had any children with Estes Moose they are not living with him. An entry in Catawba Co., marriages reads: Taylor, William age 21 son of Sidney and Malinda married Moose, Estes age 19 dau of E. A. and Sarah dated 22 Mar 1890 performed by J. M. Brown, Justice of the Peace witnesses W. R. Sims, Y. U. Martin, C. A. Deal. Your second message: Were William David TAYLOR and Estes Lobenia Moose TAYLOR a childless couple? They were married in 1890 Catawba County, NC and Estes dies in 1896 Catawba County, NC and is buried in the same plot as her parents at St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery also in Catawba County. Could Estes TAYLOR have died in childbirth? There is a Robert Lee TAYLOR who died in 1985 and is buried in Eastview-Newton Cemetery; but neither of his parents are noted on his death certificate. Thank You. Thought maybe someone out there could help us determine if we are related to Robert Lee TAYLOR since William David TAYLOR is my wife's maternal grandfather via a second marriage. Ray Hope this helps, it would be my guess that she had no children that lived, but since there were no census records for the time between marriage and her death and they lived in SC it is hard to tell for sure.
