Also there is now a new research policy in place which I know will be of interest to anyone that is unable to come in person and use the facilities. If you have paid dearly in the past for professional genealogists to supply you with information, this new policy is just what you have long sought after. Morganton Public Library - North Carolina Room Policy The staff of the North Carolina Room of the Morganton Public Library provides professional research help in response to written and telephone requests for genealogical research for Burke County and western North Carolina. The rates for research are as follows: $4.00 per hour of research plus 10 cents per page plus postage $2.00 per obituary-request (will search only in the Morganton News Herald and the correct date within one week must be provided) Written and telephone requests will be answered in the order that they are received.
