It then proceeds to list the results, from cheapest to most expensive including the shipping costs (both for ground or air shipping) and notes how quickly they ship and whether the item is in stock or has to be special ordered. (It even factors in the reduced cost if a coupon can be applied to the purchase.) In most cases, the superstores (Amazon, B & N, and Borders) are NOT the cheapest; and while the savings is often only $4-$5 for the same book with the same stock status and comparable shipping, I've had situations where I've saved as much as 50% off the cost of what it would have been at Amazon, and in one case I saved 90% because it was available through one of the remainder sites. I don't buy any book anymore without checking there first! It has also enabled me to find books which are listed as no longer in print at the superstores, and it has a function for comparison pricing for used books as well.
