Just to let all of you know we made it through our 6th hurricane in the seven and a half years we have lived here. I got a mess to clean up in the yard but we are fortunate. We were on the east side of it this time. The winds weren't as bad. The rain was not as bad either. A lot of folks in the southern parts of the county, Harlowe, were not so fortunate. They lost homes from flooding. Many of these homes belonged to Marines that had just returned from Iraq. When we first moved here, I wanted to get near the water. After all the flooding from hurricanes I am glad we didn't. We live about 3/4 of a mile from the Neuse. That's close enough. Rick Lail 2500 Street's Ferry Road Vanceboro, NC 28586
