Don't worry too much about that, at this stage. The geneweb page is simply a download of one part of my database, which has not been cleaned up. Please remember, I have mereged, automatically, several personal gedcom files into the IGI files. This will cause problems because some people have married off the wrong person, and their input will conflict. So, you might get Hannah Trisher m Richd Caswell, and his 2nd wife is Sarah Trisher. In fact, he only married one wife, but someone got it wrong, so the file shows 2 wives. Yes, its confusing, but that is the ENTIRE problem with all this! Too many people have too many conflicting trees on the Taunton Caswell line What WE are going to do, is pick through each conflicting peice of info, thrash it out, find the original records, send researchers into records office in England, and get to the truth. There is far too much crud in this line at present. (But, that is the nature of this hobby! its not anyone's fault!) If you see an obvious problem, where a man is married to a man etc. then simply use the program, and the password, 'richard' and alter the information. The more you practice with this test file, the better we will all be in a week or two when we load an improved database to the page. -----Original Message----- From: Janet <jcaswell@netrover.com> To: Mike Caswell <mike@caswellplating.com> Date: Sunday, February 28, 1999 5:16 PM Subject: Re: trial geneweb file >Mike Caswell wrote: >> I have placed a trial geneweb file up on the webpage for you to play with. >> This is cutting edge gene technology!!!! >> go to www.moonrakers.com/geneweb > >Mike I'm totally confused! >Some of the info doesn't make sense. >example-- Nathan Caswell (wife Hannah Shaw) was the son of Daniel>Thomas. >This file says Nathan son of Samuel>Thomas??? >I have my line from present back to Thomas Caswell. >Totally confused!!!! >Janet > >
