The Kerswells, historically, come from Devonshire. This is where that particular spelling seems to be prominent, according to the IGI downloads. Also, there is a cute village called Kings Kerswell. Bin ther - dun that! I actually learn't to dowse for water and underground objects thanks to an old lady name Veale in this village!
