Hi Judi, Did anyone ever answer your request for Carswell information? There were Carswells who emigrated from Scotland to Lanark in Canada. One family were from Hillhead, Barony, near Glasgow. Robert Carswell 1778-1872 and wife Helen Russell. Allan Carswell, Jr. and wife Janet Harvey. David Carswell and 1st wife Jean Muir, 2nd wife Janet Mitchell.
