    3. Everything come to he who waits (& posts to the moonrakers listserver!) So, now we know that the elusive RICHARDSON is near Winterbourn Bassett. And that the Baskervilles were of ancient Norman descent. And they WERE in Ireland! Now this IS important folks! The Baskervilles and Caswells were in Blackwater Ireland. Where the finest little piggies were produced and shipped, THROUGH CALNE- to London. Perhaps this very BASKERVILLE was the one who lived in Blackwater, alongside Samuel Caswell? Near rest the Remains of THOMAS BASKERVILLE Esq descended from an ancient Norman lineage In very early life he devoted himself to King and Country served in Germany under the Marquis of Granby and afterwards in Ireland and the West Indies always with distinguished honour He graduated in his Promotion from the Ensign to Lieut Colonel most creditably for himself and most respected and esteemed by Others He was for many years in the 50th Regt of Infantry and finally promoted to the 62nd Born at Rickardson Winterbourn Basset in this County He died at Poulton House in this Parish 4th May 1817 Aged 85 years leaving no Issue He married first ANNE only daughter of The Rev JAMES O'NEIL of Ballyshannon County of Donnegal in the Kingdom of Ireland who died in the year 1768 and secondly JANE the youngest Daughter of THOMAS BISHOP of Kinsale Gent
