He married Kate Barker and they lived at least for the later part of their lives in Condover, Shropshire, England. They had 8 children, Wilfred, Beatrice, Florence, Irene, Colin, Kathleen, Stanley, Ivan and Marshall. William died 12 August 1956 and I believe his father was also called William Caswell.     3. Given the dates involved, this probably isn't the person you're looking for, but there could be a connection. I have Robert E. Lee Caswell, born May 13, 1862 (a few weeks before General Robert E. Lee assumed command of the Army of Northern Virginia - guess whose side his parents were on!) in Nevada City, California to Judge Thomas Hubbard Caswell and Mary (Jones) Caswell (my great-grandparents). He died Oct. 7, 1909, I believe in Eureka, California. I have no information on whether he married or had children (but would love to find out!). Could this be your ancestor, or is he "way out in left field?" If anyone else out there has any further information on "Lee" (as he was called for most of his life) please let me know.
