My 4 x great-grandfather, Thomas Mountford, married an Ann Caswell in Shelsley Beauchamp, Worcestershire, on 3rd February, 1755, and I was wondering whether she might be a member of your family. As yet, I have not been able to discover where either of them were born. I look forward to hearing from you. Best wishes, Jenny Stubblefield.

    2. Beginning research on the wife of Ebenezer Lamphere, a Hannah Caswell. The couple married 5 Apr 1804 in Hartland, VT (as recorded in town records). The couple moved to Addison co, VT sometime after 1810 and before 1820. I have no information on Hannah--would like to learn parent's names, siblings, and her children's names. I am a Lamphere descendent and believe these are the parents of my earliest known ancestor, Loyd Lamphere/Lamphier. Quite a bit of circumstantial evidence but no proof. Ebenezer appears in census records but can't find birth records, land records, or probate records. Per census the couple should have abut 8 children: 5 boys and 3 girls. Other surnames connected to the couple: Everett, White, McCauley. Some Caswell names in same general vicinity of VT: Elmer H.; Julias; Nathan; Thomas; and Stephen. All names appear in the 1810-1840 census. Would anyone know these men? Can anyone eliminate or confirm they had a daughter ca 20 by 1804 or maybe a sister named Hannah? Thanks for any help you can provide, Marcia

    2. Hi, I cannot help with the actual Caswell-Irons marriages but I did find the will of Mathew Irons in Suffolk County, MA, dated about 30-Jan-1661. It names his children, John, Rebecca, Thomas, Samuel and Elizabeth. I got this from FTM's Family Archives CD 502, "Genealogical Records: Massachusetts Town, Probate, and Vital Records, 1600s-1900s." Maybe Matthew is the forebear of your Irons line?? Take care, Donna in RI

Interested in the Catherine Caswell of Hardin or Hart Co. KY. Catherine b. abt 1790 Ky according to census. Do you know who her parents were? She married William Irons perhaps in Hart Co. but recorded in Hardin Co. Ky. July 28, 1806. I presume this is my line. Twice the Irons married into Caswell line. Mary Irons married Samuel Caswell but died soon after having John Caswell. I don't know if there is a connection. I believe William and Catherine came to Indiana and had my Edward Irons b. 1815 Ky. William Irons' father I believe was Edward Irons. I'm not getting any where with this Irons line. William Irons was b. 1787 Va, a brother Thomas Irons b. 1795 Tn. Do you know anything of the Irons?
