Mike At this stage I would certainly appreciate access to the 'Lincolnshire Casswells' site. As and when I figure out how and where exactly my line fits into the main Lincolnshire tree, I will of course advise you and make arrangements to include them with the rest. I am hoping that Betty Harris will be able to provide the key to my current dead-end. I am about to load up the Taunton Ma Caswell to my Caswell webpage, using the facilities of MYFamily.com This will give us a 'SEARCHABLE DATABASE' which can be altered by subscribed members. At present, we have several Taunton Ma files, and I would like YOU LOT to tell me which one you feel is most up to date, with all the numerous branches on. If you think you have the best database, please let me have a gedcom, and we'll use that. Once I can figure out how to allow each member access to the database for editing purposes, we can begin to get going on tidying up the Taunton mess for once and for all, and get all the branches linked together. I would like to point out that several people have incorrect data, regarding the beginning of this file, some reckoning that the Caswells came from -Somerset, Leominster, Herefordshire. There is no such place - Somerset is a county, as is Herefordshire, and Leominster ( a town) is in Hereford. I suspect this data was 'gleaned' from the IGI. However, there is no proof of this data, so we have to start with Richard Caswell & Mary Slaney of London. UNLESS YOU KNOW DIFFERENTLY Perhaps the notes of George Sanborn would be a good place to start, but from what I remember of them, they are 'wolly' about the beginning of this tree. I think we will find that the Taunton Caswells are indeed linked to the Wiltshire ones- just a gut feeling.

I've just discovered that Margaret Caswell & Wm Baskerville were married in Killaloe Dioc, Doonass, Clare, Ireland The Killaloe Diocese may be an important clue here. If we could find the marriage certificate, we could probably prove where these two came from, and who their parents were. Any takers?
