Thank you so much. I never thought about him being adopted. Makes you wonder about why and what happened to his parents. He was married in Cincinati in 1822. One source I have seen shows their daughter Margaret Indiana Caswell being born in Lawerenceburg, Deaborn County Indiana and another shows her being born in Boston. She married Joseph Adams Hall from Boston. Thank you again for the information and I will join the Ohio list. At some point they all moved to New Orleans and Daniel and Mary died there. Margaret remarried after the death of Joepsh and died in Pike Co. Hi! It would be a relatively simple process to get a copy of Alice & Francis' marriage certificate. This would show their parents names. Once we have that, your task is easy. If you go to the Middleboro town hall you can research the history of the land. You need a date to start with, so if you have the date Samuel sold or bought the land you can trace it from there. Also, if you check out www.genexchange.org/state.cfm?state=ma and put in a search of these names you may be able to come up with more information. I have a Nathaniel Caswell in my database b. 1810 in Middleboro, d. 1859 in Lakeville (probably in same place but town boundaries may have changed) he is buried in Mullein Hill Cemetery. He was married to Susan Peirce. His father and son were also named Nathaniel. Do you have a website Betty? This sounds like a fantastic project you are working on. cc: Mass List, Plymouth List, Surnames Hello, I have been working on the History of my Church (Mullein Hill Church, Highland Road, Lakeville, MA -- previously Middleboro). I searched the Deeds at the Plymouth Courthouse, and could find Deeds back to this deed, below (1842). The names, below, are the men who organized the church and had it built. I have alphabetized the names for easy reference. These men lived in Middleboro or Lakeville, MA. If anyone know more about either Samuel ROBBINS (who sold the land to the Church in 1842) or the names below, please let me know. I am going to write a History of the Church, and would like to know more about these people (spouses, children, history, etc). It would be interesting to see if any of their descendants are still in this area. Also, if anyone knows where Samuel ROBBINS (of Highland Road, Middleboro, later Lakeville) got his land, I could then go further. Who did he buy it from? A few weeks ago, I typed up the SIXTEEN SHILLINGS PURCHASE from the Indians to the (to be) town of Middleboro. Later that Purchase became Lakeville, MA. The Sixteen Shillings Purchase happened in the late 1600's. Thus, I would like to find the Deeds between the SIXTEEN SHILLINGS PURCHASE to the Deed from Samuel ROBBINS in 1842.
