Hi Nancy! GREAT IDEA! Thanks for setting it up!!! I visited the URL and just wanted to let you know I'll be submitting my request to join the webring in a few days. Thanks to an online friend, I've been able to go back one more generation with my Caswells and can now officially claim Elijah Caswell (b. circa 1805 in MA) as my 3xgreat grandfather, but he's still our brick wall. I've also found four generations of Hicks who are related to my Caswells by marriage, also a few Macombers, but still have ANOTHER brick wall in my 2xgreat grandfather Samuel White. For anybody who wants to visit before I get connected to the webring, my address is: http://members.aol.com/TheSeaTourtle/hereweare.html The Caswell part starts at http://members.aol.com/TheSeaTourtle/Caswell.html Thanks again, Nancy!!
Hi Gang, well as you can see it's taken me a few days to figure this out! I set up a webring for us at www.ringsurf.com In the search box type in Caswell under that is a little link for join, click on it fill out the form! You will get instructions on how to put it onto your website :) Nancy (Caswell) Simpson http://www.caswell.itgo.com Southern New England Ghost Hunters Society http://www.atlanticghost.itgo.com/sne.html Visit the Caswell Cafe http://www.acmecity.com/flintstones/hoppy/183 _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

Hello All, Is there anyone else on the list that is researching surname CARSWELL, CARSEL, etc. from the Cupar, Ceres area of Fife in Scotland? If so, I would like to exchange information. Thank you. Regards, Bill Cotgreave [email protected] Long Island, New York, USA

Dave, Have you tried to obtain any documents on Isaac? If you haven't, send for his birth, marriage and death records. Since you have dates and locations, you have a good head start. Isaac Caswell was born 10 Mar 1800 in Warren, Herkimer Co., NY and died 29 Oct 1872 Medina, Orleans Co. NY. He married 1st, Betsy Sternberg in 1825 and 2nd, Adeline Tuttle in 1854. Isaac and Betsy were my (3G) Grandparents and had 6 children, Nelson, Charles, Nancy, Sarah A. (My 2G-Grandmother), Agusta and Marcus. My problem is that I have run into a stone-wall trying to find anything about Isaac's parents or other ancestors, or from Betsy Sternberg's ancestors either, for that matter. I would be grateful for any help, as this has been a long search. Hello List, I hope everyone is enjoying some nice weather. It's been really beautiful here in New England the past couple of weeks! I just wanted to apologize for the attachment that came through the list last week. I don't know why rootsweb did not block it. I didn't open it and I hope no one else did. The person who sent it was promptly removed from the list. One of the things I've noticed some of you doing is sharing obituaries with the list. I would like to encourage everyone to do this. You never know where there's a connection. Also any other Caswell information you come across, I hope you will share with the rest of us. As you can all see by my signature, I am the State Coordinator for the MAGenExchange. There have been rumors in the genealogy world that the GenExchange is gone. This is not true. There have been some major technical problems with the site, but it will be back on line. We are hoping by the end of the month. If you have, or come across a Caswell family website, please send it to us. I would like to start adding these links to my website and I hope others will do the same. I would like to set up a Caswell Webring. A webring links similar sites together. By clicking on a link, it brings you to another Caswell site, where you can click on links to other Caswell Sites. I'm going to work on that today and will send out info later on. This is not our Benjamin Franklin Caswell or Charity Ann Jackson. Benjamin F. Caswell in our family line didn't died until 1898 so this Charity that you refer to is not of our family line. Ben and Charity married in 1849 Their first son Noah Thomas Caswell was born Nov. 25, 1852. Our line is from thier 2nd son George Washington Caswell Sept. 30, 1854. We have relatives letters and a family Bble with this information in it. >From: [email protected] >Reply-To: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Subject: [CASWELL list] Ben F Caswell Connection..cfc >Date: Wed, 11 Apr 2001 15:26:15 -0400 > > Hello Everybody, > I am C Caswell in Georgia, Still looking for the connection to the Ben >F Caswell family of Heard Co Ga. >I have found a little more info that I will share with everybody......my >E mail [email protected] > The only responce to my previous note was from Silas Caswell, so >this comment is for you Silas. > On your thoughts, as to the possibility of Ben F Caswell being >married before marrying Charity A Jackson...Well this could be a very >good possibility......I have just found this info....on the internet... > I used www.mormons.com to do a Family search on Charity A Jackson, >wife of Ben F caswell... >It tells me that Charity A Jackson was christened in Meriweather Co >Ga..And that ....she married in Hackeyville, Talapoosa County, Alabama in >1865...............(.That is married in1865....) > This is located due west of Lagrange Ga, and it is just north of >Alexander Cty Ala.. > If we assume this to be correct, this would give reason to think >that Charity A Jackson would not have been his first wife........
