Hi Norman! What's your 3x great grandmother's first name? Maybe she belongs to me too! I only have a few names and connections. Mine are in Massachusetts. I can understand your feelings about researching. My experience in researching has been very diverse. Sometimes people either flock to help you (my Bruce family), or with another line all you get is "buy this" or "subscribe to this." I've got one name I'm researching that I 've found an entire "club" online but I can't seem to breach the walls. Members only, thank you very much. Sometimes you only have one name, like my 2xgreat grandfather Samuel White, and you can't find ANYBODY. But for the most part, I've had a really great experience. So if you ever need help, or support, my email box is always open. And thanks to Nancy's suggestion, if we all post our lines, maybe you will find who you are looking for! Good Luck, Judy
Thanks for letting me know so quickly. Sandy --- I don't believe it has been proven nor has evidence been found that immigrant and early-Taunton settler Thomas Caswell married Mary Sanderson. I, too, have seen this marriage posted elsewhere. From what I've been able to ascertain, the "Bobbit Genealogy" reported, without supporting documentation, that immigrant Thomas Caswell m. Mary Sanderson, daughter of silversmith John Sanderson of Boston. The only Caswell - Sanderson connection of approximately this time period of which I am aware resulted when Thomas2 (Thomas1) Caswell m. Mary2 Jones, daughter of Thomas1 and Lydia (Sanderson) Jones of Boston then Taunton. Lydia2 Sanderson was the daughter of Boston silversmith Robert1 and Lydia (???) Sanderson. Robert1 Sanderson (d. October 7, 1693) mentions granddaughter Mary (Jones) Caswell in his will (proven October 20, 1693). --- Scott Foster In a message dated 5/11/01 7:16:03 AM Pacific Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: > Thomas Caswell and Mary Sanderson > to Thomas Caswell and Mary Ramsden > to Timothy Caswell and Deborah Bowker > to Job Caswell and Mercy Perry > to Levi caswell and Alice Clark, Jr. > to Peleg Benson Caswell and Mary Quimby Robbins > to Earl Francis Caswell and Augusta M. Norman, Please, refresh my memory. What is the name of the Caswell woman you are looking for? I should have responded to someone and did not and now I forgot who it was looking for a Celie Caswell. That spelling may not be correct. She is listed in the Florida census in the 1800's as living with someone else. They were in Walton County at or near Freeport. Hope this helps someone. Norman, you can look at info on any of the websites, I worked all day on my website yesterday, its' got 2 indexes, one is by generation, the other is alphabetical. Go to www.caswell.itgo.com then click on the Caswell Family Tree link on the left side of the page. You don't have to have your own website to be able to look at other sites. Let me know if I can be of further help. GREAT IDEA! Thanks for setting it up!!! I visited the URL and just wanted to let you know I'll be submitting my request to join the webring in a few days. Thanks to an online friend, I've been able to go back one more generation with my Caswells and can now officially claim Elijah Caswell (b. circa 1805 in MA) as my 3xgreat grandfather, but he's still our brick wall. I've also found four generations of Hicks who are related to my Caswells by marriage, also a few Macombers, but still have ANOTHER brick wall in my 2xgreat grandfather Samuel White. For anybody who wants to visit before I get connected to the webring, my address is: http://members.aol.com/TheSeaTourtle/hereweare.html The Caswell part starts at http://members.aol.com/TheSeaTourtle/Caswell.html Thanks again, Nancy!! ==== CASWELL Mailing List ==== See the Wiltshire CASWELL family tree www.redsuspenders.com/~caswell/caswell _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
I tried to look at this but it seemed as if I only got a form to open my own ring site. After a search for Caswell it came up Search Results for Caswell1-1 of 1 1. Caswell Web Ring - 0 sites. Maybe I do not know what this is about?
