    3. A few days ago I spoke with Noreen Haler of the CSO I suggested to her that she let me have a copy of her 2500 page data on the Caswell name for our latest CD. Some of you will recall that CSO were prepared to let me have a copy of this, at a price which I simply could not afford to pay. However, since I have obtained all the data from the IGI etc. and have actually produced one CD for Moonrakers, things have changed. I have previously mentioned that I was hoping to produce this Caswell CD for around $15. BUT, if the CSO were to give me their entire database (2500 pages of research) I could add this to the CD and cover the cost by adding only $10 to the CD. Folks, this is a bargain! Noreen Haler and her sister have placed this mammoth work of theirs in several libraries around the world. To have it on this CD would be a great achievement! I would like you ALL, to please write a quick note to Noreen mentioning that you would be prepared to purchase this CD. I think that if enough people write in, we may be able to persuade them to contribute the data to this project. Alternatively, you can only get their work from the LDS on fiche etc. (Wot a pain!) I am going to contribute $10 to the CSO for every CD we sell, which should, at least, help contribute to the enormous effort in time and money put in by these two sisters. Noreen's address is:- Noreen Haler 310 Lakeview Drive Grand Prairie Texas 75051 Please write to her now!!!! She does not have email! 3. With regard to this posting, I have uploaded my latest version of how the Taunton Ma line and the North Carolina line originate from NORTHAMPTONSHIRE England. Please visit www.moonrakers.com/caswell/TauntonMA&NC.htm This is a LARGE decendancy chart, which should answer many peoples questions! I hope to place a more updated version of this on the webpage, so you can all edit the files. I think the main problem with this Taunton, North Carolina thing has been that the only people, up to now, who have been interested in this were Americans. They were at a distinct disadvantage not knowing the English terrain! Onward! (Isn't this fun!) :-) >Thomas Caswell who seems to have been the Thomas, son of Richard, above >mentioned, was one of the first settlers in Taunton, MA., which was >incorporated in 1639. 3. I've been watching and reading the list messages and I'd like to toss my names in the ring. I have a whole line-up seemingly unconnected to any other line, but this is I think the first time the Tauntons via Connecticut have sounded logical. I have the following list, MOST confirmed by records and family gravesites: 1. The Caswell father would have been born abt 1800 in England (place known by record). There were two sons listed in the census, etc.: 2. Thomas Caswell, b. 1829 in England; d. aft. 1892 in Pennsylvania m. #1. Anna Mason, b. 1833 England; d. aft 1893 in PA (They were not living together by the next census; he had some of the children, the rest were at another address with her. Divorce, I believe because he remarried, as you will see.) had: 3. Elizabeth, b. 1855 in England (Wales?) 3. Mary A., b. 1857 in England (Wales?) 3. Ellen, b. 1859 in England (Wales?) 3. Arthur, b. Aug. 15, 1861 in England; d. Apr. 20, 1935 Plymouth, PA 1900 PA Census; Naturalized citizen; Cary St., Plains Twp., Luzerne Co. m. Rachel M., b. Oct. 1866 in Wales; d. 1942, Plymouth, PA had: 4. Mabel G. and Blanch M. Emigrated btwn 1863-1865. 3. William, b. 1865 in PA 3. Adeline, b. Apr. 18, 1866 in Hawley, Wayne Co., PA, d. Oct. 3, 1918 3. George, b. 1969 in PA m.#2. Mary E. ? b. 1854 in PA had: Samuel L. Caswell, b. 1878 in PA Davie John Caswell, b. Feb 1880 in PA Listed in the 1870 Hazle Twp., Luzerne Co. 1880 Census #38 Harleigh, Hazle, Luzerne William H. Caswell, age 16, George - age 13 living with Thomas and Mary E. 2. Henry Caswell, b. 1835 in England (Wales?); no wife mentioned. 3. Anna E., b. 1858 "" "" 3. George T., b. 1860 in "" "" My direct line runs from Thomas and Anna through Adeline. I know about Arthur because Mabel was the school nurse at my parents' schools. Many are also buried in Forty Fort Cemetery, although I think Adeline and her first husband John were washed out into the Schuylkill River during the 1980 (?) floods.

    3. I have a program called GENEWEB which allows me to place a gedcom file on the webpage and gives password holders access to the database, so that they can add, alter and delete files. Seeing as there are so many people who are doing this TAUNTON line, I thought it might be the ideal time to set this up. Firstly, I need the latest, most comprehensive edition of a Taunton Caswell database, so if someone could supply that! (I have not been personally persuing this line) Secondly, anyone who is interested, should contact me for a password.
