I have one gentleman for whom I cannot find a passenger list. Patrick McGourty. He was born in 1850 and family lore says he came as 'a young man, about 17'. (Thus 1867). His death certificate would indicate he came in January of 1866. The 1920 census states he immigrated in 1872 and was naturalized in 1876. He married in May of 1880 in Iowa so that gives a definitive end date for possible passenger lists. I have searched the 1872 passenger lists for NY; Jan-May of 1866NY; Jan-June 1867NY; soundexed passenger lists for Boston, Philadelphia with no luck. I would presume he arrived on the east coast as he connected with other McGourty family cousins in Wilkes-Barre before heading west to Iowa. Anyone here with access to CD's?
