I have been reading the questions and answers on this list for awhile . I know that there are some very knowledgeable people out there.I hope that somone can give me a direction to go in. A cousin and I have been trying to find the ship that they arrived on or the town that our ancestors are from. The cousin and Ihave met online and even together we have run into brick walls. We know that our Bose relatives came around 1888 and 1890 and that they came from Germany by steerage. They ended up in SAn Jose California but some documents state that they they stayed in another place before coming to San Jose. We have checked Census records and other sources but have been unable to locate any information how where and when they arrived. They were supposed to have come from a town by the name of Buttle.
