If it's not too much of an imposition, could you possibly look up two gr-uncles who have been my stumbling blocks for ages? Both came to this country before 1887. Francis (or Franz) SALZMANN, believed to have been born in Alsace-Lorraine but "may" have emigrated from Hessen. He was born around 1860, give or take. I found him as a sponsor at an uncle's baptism in New York City in 1894. His sister (my grandmother) came to this country in 1884, but he wasn't on the same passenger list. Gottfried Christof (or Godefrey Christian) REICHERT, born in Dobel, Wurttemberg on Oct. 19, 1846. He was a witness to his sister's marriage in New York City in 1867, and was also a sponsor at another baptism in 1888, so I know he emigrated sometime in the mid 1860's. If you find any clue to either of these men, I'd be so grateful. Thank you in advance. Dorothy Colwell paws@nqi.net
