Hello, I am looking for the immigration details of a family who left Denmark/Germany. A family member said they arrived at Ellis Island on 30th May 1871, but as Ellis Island didn't open until 1892, I believe they could have arrived at Castle Garden. The family settled in Cook Chicago Illinois. Gulbrand Tellefsen (husband) Christina Maria Tellefsen (wife) Serene Marie Tellefsen (daughter) Paul Christian Tellefsen (son) In other records I have found many different spelling variations for Tellefsen (Tollefsen, Talleifsen are the common variations, the surname "Lund" was used at one stage in Denmark).
