He came to NYC Port US ca.1850/57 and became a citizen 19 Oc 1864. He m.9 Dec 1862 St. Alphonsius RC Ch, NYC to Catherine STOLTE. He went to CA looking for Gold ca.1862 and she remained in NYC. I have record they had their first child b.1866 NYC so he did not stay long looking for gold, nor did he find any, as family hearsay goes... I have nothing much on my STOLTE line....Catherine was b.5 Aug 1842 NYC, so her family was in US early 1800's too and supposedly came from Germany to US. Having come to US that early, they had to enter Castle Garden and i am looking for evidence of them or their family on ships coming to NYC Port from either Germany or France ca. early 1800's...... Any clues or connections?? Thank you, Happy Trails, Joan in rural MT *_~ Also, visit my 4 personal home pages on spirituality and genealogy: http://www.geocities.com/crystalwoman_2000/roots.html crystalwoman@montana.com
