    1. [CASTLE-GARDEN] Survivors of the Central America A-H
    2. Irish-American October 3, 1857 Special Report Survivors of the Central America (A - H) It was hoped that the schooner referred to (by the second officer in his statement) may have picked up some of the unfortunate sufferers in addition to those already known to be saved.  But this expectation was dispelled on Thursday last, by the arrival at Boston, of the vessel in question, the El Dorado, of New York, Capt. STONE.  He reports that he lay to during the night and cruised about the spot where the steamer's lights were last seen until next day but saw no trace of any of the passengers of the wreck.  Thus vanishes the last hope of hearing of the safety of any more of the missing.
