Hello again, I have a question about when passports were required to leave the USA. My ggrandfather, Tomas (Thomas) de Ibarrondo (Ybarrondo), made a trip back to Spain in about 1894. He is listed on the Ellis Island site as arriving back to the USA on July 14, 1894. He is listed as a citizen with the Ybarrondo spelling. I thought if passports were required maybe I could find helpful information from it and if so where would I look? Thanks for your help. Fern Comstock
