    3. Ahhhh, now it becomes a bit of a chore, Sonja. NARA has the manifest records, BUT, they're not indexed. You (and I, heheh) need to narrow down our ancestor's arrival year through census records, City Directories, family lore/papers, etc. Then we have to pore through reel after reel after reel after reel of microfilm looking at the manifests of 'every' ship which arrived in whatever time frame we isolate. I'm too old and my eyes won't allow for that, even though I have a 'good idea' of the years involved for my folks.
