    1. [CASTLE] John Castle
    2. My brick wall is John Levi Castle/Cassel, born in South Carolina circa 1800 based on his marriage date of 12 Aug 1824 to Charity Swaine in Wilcox County, Alabama. Charity was reportedly born in North Carolina. John Levi died before 10 Mar 1842 as Charity married Montgomery Gause on that date in Coosa County, Alabama. Three of his children, John Levi, Thomas and Martha (Patsy) who married William Corbett (Corbit). John Levi Castle/Cassel is recorded with both spellIngs on censuses in Wood County, Texas. All of his descendants spell the name as Cassel. I would appreciate any information or leads that anyone might provide about this Castle/Cassel family in South Carolina or any other family that I might research. Thank you, Kim Tardie
