They had one daughter that I can document: Laura Maria Castle (sometimes listed as Castel in listings)b. abt 1825 who married William Cooper in Cambridge. They moved west to Onondago County NY sometime in the 1840s. I'd be interested in any information on the Castles, Coopers, and Randals of the Cambridge area. Author: mackley86 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.castle/1010.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am seeking information about a Castle family living in Quebec. My Castle family was living in Chicago from 1839 but in 1843, Caroline Johnson Castle must have traveled to Quebec because Louisa Castle was born in Quebeck. The other children were born in Chicago so I have to assume she traveled from Chicago Ill to Quebec to be with family. Any help with a Castle family in Quebec would be greatly appreciated. Not Ananias Yeurias but Ananias oldest brother John F. Castle. Ananias was born 16 Sept 1827 and married Jane Irwin on 8 Oct 1848, died on 17 Mar 1903. Ananias was the youngest of ten children. John F. Castle is my G. G. grandfather. My mother, Kathryn, was an orphan but knew who her mother and father were. I have been searching for any relatives for some time now. Have not been able to get very much information in the last few years, but I will share what ever I have, if you want it. Author: mackley86 Surnames: Herrick, Hurd Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.castle/669.5.1.3.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have a little information that may be helpful. I have a Marenda Castle born 12-18-1775 who was a daughter of Gideon Castle Sr. the Rev. War Vet. I also have a Miranda Ford who married Gideon Castle Jr.. She was born June 23, 1772 in Columbia Cannan Mass. She married Gideon Castle, Jr. in March 1794 and died april 26, 1814. I am sorry to say that I can't give you my method of documentation because some of my information I inherited from my grandmother who passed away in 1960. I recently had my lineage accepted by DAR and my National number is 846375. I traced the veteran Gideon Castle Sr. through his son William Castle and wife Margaret Herrick. William Castle was a line that hadn't previously been proven. Hope this is helpful. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. Re: [CASTLE] Names on a War Memorial
    2. There was a George Castle in Hancock County TN. He is gone now, but the dates are about right. The Castle line has been the hardest to work on. I am a Castle but can not get very far back. Laurel Castle Price ---- michael@allbrook.com wrote: > I am researching the names on the War Memorial in our village. The information that I have is very limited, just an initial and a surname. My objective is to ensure that there is as comprehensive a record of those who died as is practical. The memorial itself is in Deddington and it commemorates people from the nearby villages of Hempton, Clifton, Duns Tew and Adderbury Some of the names are simple to track but others have so far eluded me. One such person is – George W H CASTLE or G W H Castle as is inscribed on the memorial What I have managed to establish is Births Dec 1883 CASTLE George William H Woodstock Registration District 1891 census Albert J CASTLE 30 Agricultural Labourer born in Clifton Lydia CASTLE 42 born in Hempton and their children George W H CASTLE 7 born in Clifton, James CASTLE 4 born in Clifton Arthur Jubilee CASTLE 3 born in Clifton Albert CASTLE 2 born in Clifton 1901 census Lydia, James, Arthur and Eva CASTLE are in the Workhouse which was in Woodstock. There is no obvious trace of the Father, Albert J CASTLE or George W H CASTLE himself. Looking at the records in the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, there does not appear to be a likely candidate. What I wish to find out is when and where George W H CASTLE died, where he is buried and where he was in 1901. Can anyone help please? 3. Sorry, do not know. Our George Castle died in War of 1812 in USA. He had a son George Washington Castle, no middle name of William. We have been unable to establish the father of "our" George!
