I know that my grandfather was in TN in 1888, then migrated to Oregon and Washington states. I can not locate him in TN, but that is what is on his marriage license. My great grandfather's death record states his parents as Goldman Castle and Rachel Sargent. Goldman and Rachel were married in Scott County, Virginia and moved to Somerset, Kentucky with William Castle and Margaret Cox in the 1840s. William Castle's death record states his parents as Jacob and Martha Castle of Russell county, Virginia. You can find William on the early census records of Russell county, but his name was spelled William Cassell then. His father Jacob also alternated between the spelling Cassell/Castle. Jacob b.1749 is believed to be the son of the older Jacob and Gliding Swan. I'm really hoping to clarify the different Castle family lines on the Virginia frontier. I've seen other Castles with the R1a haplogroup online, but there is no way to contact them. I'm trying to gather as much information as I can. Thanks. On 22 Jan 1859 she married Samuel Kennedy and they had a daughter Annie born 16 Aug 1859. It is not known at this time what happened to Samuel but in 1862 she married Thomas W Kite. They had two daughters Sarah and Elizabeth and migrated to the United States in about 1874 and settled in Fulton, Callaway Co, Missouri.
