Francis was son of E.S. Castle and brother to my ancestor George Newton. Francis was almost 30 years older than Anna and had died by 1910, as Anna is widow on census and Marvin is 10. Have death certificate for Anna who died in 1955 in MO. Have no other info about Marvin. Also a James Jackson Castles b in 1818 in S.C. has a son by 3rd wife Betty Stenchcom named Walter Marvin b 1872 in TX. Know nothing about this family as probably not closely related if at all. He married Louisa Stone who was from TX but her parents grew up in TN. They were married 5 Apr 1896 in Lewisville, Denton Co., TX. He says he was born in 1875 in Texas. That's it for now. I'm encouraging the family to do a DNA test to help us narrow it down further, perhaps a family finder test even. But both are closed on a Monday. You might like to join Oxfordshire Family History Society www.ofhs.org.uk and support genealogy in Oxfordshire? You'd receive three packed journals a year. Whichever of the two places you go to later in the week (and OFHS has helpers at OxS on Tuesday afternoons, Thursday mornings and Fridays) you need to use both the transcribed parish registers *and* the Search Services - you can search baptism and burial databases on computer at both places. And you can buy the transcripts on CD also, from OFHS directly through the website, or at OxS or ORO. There's a help contact at www.ofhs.org.uk if you'd like more help from the Society.
