She was born a Vince, her mother was a Jones and her maternal grandmother was Maria (Rivie) Castle born Dec 1865 in Margate, Kent. I am trying to find out further info on Maria's parents, Thomas and Jane Castle. I think Thomas was born about 1833 in Stourmouth, Kent with parents named Thomas and Mary. In the 1841 England Census they were living in Stourmouth and his siblings were named Harriet (15yrs), John (13), Charles (11), Mary (6), Susannah (4) and Frances (2). Both parents listed as being 35 yrs of age. Do you have any of these members of the Castle family on your database? Any reply will be appreciated. The 1841 England Census lists Susannah aged four years with mother Mary, 35 yrs and Father Thomas Castle 35 yrs (note the adults ages were rounded down to the nearest 5 yrs in this census). They lived in Stourmouth, Kent. The Public Record Office reference number is HO 107/470/9. My husband's ancestor is Susannah's older brother Thomas. The 1871 England Census lists Thomas (48yrs) and family living at 8 King Street Margate, Thomas' wife's name is Jane. They have a niece named Mary Ann Ratcliff living with them. Longmont Ledger (Longmont, Boulder County, Colorado) Dec 16, 1904 Page 1 DIED CASTLE--Near Longmont, on Monday, Dec 12, 1904, the result of an accident, Eva Castle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Castle, aged 10 years, 2 months and 1 day. The details of the accident that took the life of the child will never be known. She was supposed to have ridden a horse Saturday afternoon, was dragged by the stirrups some distance. She was picked up unconscious about a hundred yards from the house, and lived till about 9 o'clock Monday night, but did not recover consciousness. The family live a Pleasant View Ridge. MARCUS L. CASTLE DIED SUNDAY March 18, 1934----Marcus L. Castle, gunsmith and expert mechanician, died Sunday morning at his home, 78 Constable Street, after a week's illness. Death resulted from pneumonia. He was 57 years of age. Mr. Castle had operated a repair business on Amsden Street since 1919, specializing in guns, locks, typewriters, picture-framing and kindred lines and was an expert workman. He was born at Brasher Iron Works, a son of Henry and Eliza Dreen Castle. For a long period of years he was associated with E. N. W. Robbing before he established his own shop. Mr. Castle was an ardent sportsman and an enthusiastic member of the Malone Fish and Game Club. He maintained a camp at Lake Titus and found a deep enjoyment in outdoor life. The deceased was a member of the Methodist Church and was a citizen of the highest type. He was united in marriage with Betty Bush who survives him with two daughters, Mrs. Carl Stebbins of Saranac Lake and Mrs. Clarence Bassett, Malone. He also leaves two sisters. Mrs. W. B.
