However, if you want to pursue his obituary, contact the California State Library, library.ca.gov/calhist/genealogy.html . They have the largest collection of California newspapers in the state. They don't have the staff to look up obituaries but if you contact them, they will send you a list of local researchers who will do so for a fee. You mentioned the Cemetery having records they could release. What other information are you looking for? Maybe I can help.
