You need to purchase the death certificate to find out if this is your Minnie Ayers. It's too bad that the CA death index in the 1970s didn't index parents' names during the decade from 1970-79 but it didn't. If Family Search hasn't filmed the death certificates in Stanislaus county from 1976 then your only option is to buy an informational copy of the death certificate. I checked the Modesto Bee obituary index that was put together by the Stanislaus county library and Minnie does not appear in 1976. http://stanislauslibrary.org/pdf/obits/ You can also search Stanislaus Cemeteries here: http://www.cagenweb.com/lr/stanislaus/Stanislaus Co Cemeteries/cemeteries_of_stanislaus_county.htm Here's the thread from 2012...... please help with obit, or any info karenweir52 (View posts) Posted: 23 Aug 2012 6:26PM GMT Classification: Query Surnames: Ayers I am looking for a Minnie Ayers, the death index shows her ssn as 500036624, born 28 October 1889, died 6 Sept 1976 Stanislous Co California. I hope to have an obit, or maiden name of her mother or burial place , or any pertinent information about this person. Help would be wonderful. If you'd like you can search.. http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=gUOu-QWEMMQC You could order an "Informational Copy" of her death certificate. It should give you the information your looking for. Good luck, Alma Re: please help with obit, or any info karenweir52 (View posts) Posted: 23 Aug 2012 6:35PM GMT Classification: Query thank you for your help, hoping to find this without having to spend money right now, and I did a quick search, could not even find sept 76, thanks though!! This would be where she was receiving her benefits. She could have died in a hospital in SF or Stockton, or in an auto accident anywhere.
