Seeking information on location of Emory Township, as it appears on the 1860 census for Stanislaus County. The Stanislaus County GenWeb page says this regarding city directories for Emory: "Emory see Knight's Ferry, see also Oakdale" However, the 1860 census lists Emory as a township, with its post office as La Grange. Was Emory a specific town or did it cover a larger geographic area? Thanks, Sharon
