    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZW.2ADI/878.1.1 Message Board Post: Quite possible. Do you know anything of Frank's ancestry? John Perry (not Jefferson P. as previously posted) Harbert was the son of John L. & Elizabeth (Ellis) Harbert. Other children were (Dr.) Jacob Ellis Harbert; Matthew R. Harbert; Emily Harbert; Ellen; and "Elburty" (Alberta?). Here's what a Goodspeed's bio says of the father: "John Harbert was a native of Kentucky, whence he removed to Cape Girardeau County, MO, and was married in the latter place. Soon after his mariage he removed to McLean County, Ill., and remained about twelve years. He was a farmer and mechanic. From Illinois he went to Iowa, but three years later removed to Southwest Missouri, and located in Barry County. Later he removed to Newton County, and died in Neosho in 1862." John Perry was born in Iowa January 7, 1843, and went to California in 1861. Think it's safe to assume, although his obit doesn't say, he also lived in MO - Barry/Newton Co. - with his parents when he was a boy. After living in Calif. for a short time he went to Arkansas where he remained until 1884 when he returned to California and opened a general store at Waterford.
