MILLS Jan. 14, 1913 - Oct. 7, 1997 Sophie J. Mills, 84, of Modesto died Tuesday at Arbor Valley Convalescent Hospital. Mrs. Mills was a native of Kentucky. She lived in Modesto 60 years. She was active in Women of the Moose; she had served as grand regent, junior and senior regent, and chaplain, and with the Academy of Friendship. She is survived by her children, Ted Fisher of Ceres, Joe Fisher of Dublin, Matt Fisher of El Sobrante and Deborah Pasley of Carson City; and 11 grandchildren and five great-grand-children. A funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs, Ceres. Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel. Remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, 250 Alhambra Blvd., Sacramento 95816.
