He died in a Modesto hospital. Mudgett, a resident of Ripon seventeen years, injured his spine in the fall. He was picking peaches in the back yard of his home when the accident occurred. A native of Nevada, Mudgett had been engaged in trucking in Ripon. Besides a widow, Mrs. Mattie Mudgett of Ripon, he leaves three children, Myron Mudgett and Hattie Scott of Modesto and Persis Flanagan of Point Loma, and a sister, Helen Decker of Ripon. He also leaves four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock in the Shannon Chapel with Elder JGlen L. Virgin officiating.
