HECKMAN Walter A. Heckman, 90 year old native of Sonora, Tuolumne County, died here yesterday following an extended illness. The retired rancher had lived in the Modesto community for 79 years. His home was on Orange Avenue. Heckman was the father of Mrs. Rose E. Olson and Mrs. Marjorie Saferite, both of Modesto; grandfather of Mrs. Marjorie Lubowsky of Jersey City, NJ, James R. Hooker of San Jose, Oscar P. Hooker of Burbank and Mrs. Phyllis Hembree of Sacramento, and great grandfather of four. Services will be held at 3:30 PM tomorrow in the Salas Brothers-Moore Funeral Chapel. Dr. Alan R. Goozee will officiate. Interment will be in the Masonic Cemetery. Transcribed by Judy Ewbank
