WELCH Jan. 18, 1909 - Dec. 20, 1999 James Thomas "Jay" Welch, 90, of Deanir died Monday at Elness Convalescent Hospital, Turlock. Mr. Welch was a native of Arkansas. He lived in Denair 61 years. He was a machine operator at Foremost Creamery. He was a former volunteer firefighter in Denair. He attended Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by his children, Velma Sue Baker of Denair and Valta Jue Silva of Bandon, Ore.; brother, Dick Welch of Colcord, Okla.; sister, Myrtle Vause of Colcord; and eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Turlock Memorial Park, Turlock. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Allen Mortuary, Turlock. Transcribed by Judy Ewbank
