Mello A Rosary will be recited 8 o'clock tonight at the Allen Mortuary for long-time Turlock resident Anton (Tony) S. Mello, 84, who died Sunday at a local hospital following a long illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be at Turlock Memorial Park. A native of the Azores, he came to the United States in 1915 and settled in Turlock. He was a dairyman and farmer until his retirement. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the American Legion, World War I Barracks, and U.P. E. C. No. 75. He was a veteran of World War I and was awarded the Purple Heart. Suvivors include a daughter, Beatrice Christian of Fresno; a son, George Mello of Turlock; a sister, Victoria Demello of the Azores; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The commanders of the World War I Barracks and Rex Ish Post 88, American Legion, request that officers and members attend the services.
