Final rites will be conducted by Summit Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, and the Rev. Freelen Johnson of Ceres at 2 PM tomorrow in the Pascoe-Botto Mortuary in Oakdale. Interment will be in the family plot in the Knights Ferry Cemetery. Mrs. Baugh was one of nine children born to Mr. and Mrs. William Gable, who had settled north of Knights Ferry at Two Mile Bar on the Stanislaus River in 1854. He became a prominent cattleman and pioneer fruit grower. History recorded the fact that the six acre family orchard contained the largest fig trees in the area at the time. ROUND HOUSE A round house built by George and Lewis Dent, who laid out the townsite in 1854, became a bridal cottage when San Baugh, a blacksmith, married Annie Gable. They moved into the historic home 63 years ago. For the past four years Mrs. Baugh has made her home with Mrs. Esther Napier. Last year she sold her historic round house to Conrad Waage. Mrs. Baugh was a past matron of the Summit chapter and past noble grand of the Rebekah Lodge and held 50 year pins in both. Three nieces and two nephews survive. Transcribed by Judy Ewbank
