Surnames: Nystrom Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZW.2ADI/2087 Message Board Post: Transcribed by Diana Busby-Knight Turlock Journal - Feb. 27, 1984 Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Evangelical Free Church for Arnold Melvin NYSTROM, 70, who died Saturday afternoon in a local hospital following a long illness. Burial will be at Turlock Memorial Park. Visitation is at the Allen Mortuary today until 9 p.m., Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. A Turlock native, he was employed by the local postal branch for 34 years and retired as assistant postmaster. Following retirement, he traveled for two years as the west coast representative for the stewardship department of the Evangelical Free Church of America. He belonged to the Evangelical Free Church of Turlock where he served as Sunday School superintendent, church chairman, deacon and elder and was a member of the choir for more than 50 years. Survivors include his wife, Rosalie of Turlock; two daughters, Marilyn Aiken and Susan NYSTROM, both of Turlock; three sons, Harlan of Santa Rosa, Gerald of Redding and Ronald of Turlock; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family requests that contributions be made in his memory to the Evangelical Free Church Organ Fund or to the Turlock Christian School, both at 1360 Johnson Road, Turlock.
