My search has led me to people on South Santa Cruz Street in Modesto. There are people that lived on this street in the early 40's that still live in Modest. The name I recongnized in your messages is Seely and Monk.Susie Monk lived on South Santa Cruz Street. Her name was Susie Ilabelle Seely. She married Walter Monk and they had 2 children. She remarried Lester Montgomery and and they had 2 children and another one died at birth.I'm not saying that she is the b-mother. I was just wondering if this is the same Susie Monk that was mentioned in the Obits and she has children still living that I thought might have known a neighbor or knew of a neighbor that had a baby girl that was'nt around very long. I found the birth announcement of the adoptee in micro film in the Modesto Bee, but all it says is daughter born to the wife of...... and the name of the b-father in the Bee is not the husband of the b-mother. This is why it's been hard to figure! out. I do know for a fact that the name of the b-father is correct. They got away with it because it was the 40's and that is what they told the newspaper. The babys given name was Lois Irene. She was born Nov. 25, 1943 and lived on South Santa Cruz Street in Modesto. She was born at a Modesto Hospital. In June of 1944 she was picked up by the adopted parents at a house on South Santa Cruz. How I know this is that I was told if I wanted to know anything to ask and the adoptee was shown the house where she use to live and that if she ever wanted to know anything to just ask. Well, we never did and now that person is passed on. From the adoptee, snooping when she was young she found out that the b-fathers name is Pizzicaro. Those letters are gone. I've been searching for almost 4 years and it's frustrationg because everything is so close to home and there is so much informatin but I don't want to jump to conclusions. The reason I'm searching is because California! adoption records are closed and my mother would like to know her medical history and ehtnic background. She told me it did'nt matter what I found out but all she want is background. She said she would let me know if she decided she wanted to know more. We are not really interested in any kind of a renuion, just information. I do have to say that after researching it's been fun and interesting and has caused me to become more curious.
